Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, which released worldwide on December 12th 2008, has broken all earlier opening weekend collection records for Yash Raj Films. The film has grossed approximately Rs. 60 Crores worldwide on its opening weekend, and has surpassed Dhoom:2, which is regarded as one of the highest grossing films of all-time.
In the Middle East, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi has set a new record altogether as the highest opening film of all-time. The previous highest was Dhoom:2, which grossed approximately $1.86 million across its entire run. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi has grossed approximately $1 million on its opening weekend alone.

The film has also received a grand opening across all overseas markets, including the UK, USA, Australia, Europe, Africa, and other territories in Asia.

The most popular show in America – American Idol, is adding a fourth judge.

Grammy-nominated songwriter Kara DioGuardi will take a seat next to Randy, Simon, and Paula when American Idol 8 premieres on FOX in January 2009. Over the last four years, she has been awarded 10 BMI Pop Awards for having written the most performed songs on radio. She is one of the most sought after songwriters. This is the eighth season for the American Idol.

“For the past seven seasons, Paula has had to endure the experience of being the only woman at the judges’ table. … With Kara by her side, Paula finally has some back-up and now there is going to be a lot more ‘girl power’ on the show,” Fox boss Mike Darnell said in a statement Monday.

“We are turning the heat up on Idol this year and are thrilled to welcome Kara to the judges’ table,” show creator and executive producer Simon Fuller says.

“She is a smart, sassy lady, and one of America’s most successful songwriters. We know she will bring a new level of energy and excitement to the show.”

The Cast of Dancing with the Stars – Season 7 has been revealed at ABC’s Good Morning America show. This new season 7 of Dancing with the Stars premieres Monday, September 22 at 8pm with the first elimination show on the 24th.

On the first week of Dancing with the Stars, all 13 couples will dance on the premiere, September 22 at 8pm. One pair will be eliminated on Tuesday’s show and the remaining 12 will dance again, with a second pair being eliminated on Wednesday. Bergeron also revealed that Wednesday results show will include musical performances by Jesse McCartney and the Jonas Brothers.
